Below you will find information on the financing of Lifegate and the supporting association.
Construction investments
Almost all funds for constructional investments in the Lifegate building are essentially financed by large organisations such as the BMZ (Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation), the Bavarian campaign „Sternstunden” , the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia, large foundations and other partners.
Our own contribution
The running costs of the work are financed by individual donations, collections from parishes, membership fees and grants from aid organisations.
However, it is a declared goal of Lifegate to generate the costs of the ongoing work itself through its own services. In the last few years, it has been possible to generate about one third of the annual costs through own local income such as the sale of workshop articles and olive oil and school fees as well as through the guesthouse „Lifegate Garden”.

Donations, collections, membership fees
The annual budget of Lifegate Beit Jala is currently about 1.2 million €. Our association has been able to collect donations, collections and membership fees of about 500,000 € per year on average in the years 2017–2019. In addition, there are the grants that the supporting association applies for in Germany.
Our association contributes about half of the running costs of the (support) work in the West Bank. The remaining funds that are required are generated by our own efforts and provided by other donors (organisations) from around the world (as of 2020).
